GFF 2 Div: PSV Wellingara suffers back-to-back defeats, Immigration closes gap

The league leaders, PSV Wellingara have suffered back-to-back defeats while Immigration win to close the game at the top of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 2nd Division League.

PSV Wellingara suffered back-to-back defeats in the Gambia Second Division League with a latest 2-1 coming from Dibba Oil in a game played at the Soma mini-stadium on Wednesday.

PSV Wellingara, who started the league very impressively seems to be losing redeem after registering another defeat against Dibba Oil before being defeated by Jam City in their previous fixture.

The Lower River Region side Dibba Oil now collected their fourth wins of the season, while PSV Wellingara suffered their third defeats of the season.

PSV Wellingara overall collected six victories, one draw and three defeats, while Dibba Oil overall suffered four defeats, two draws and four wins in ten games.

PVS Wellingara maintain the top spot with 19 points leveling with Immigration while Dibba Oil occupy 6 position with 14 points leveling with Tallinding United

Elsewhere, Immigration FC has beaten Wagadu 1-0 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum on Wednesday.

Immigration FC earned this victory to close the gap against the top spot occupant, while Wagadu FC inconsistency form continues in their maiden league season.

The Upper River Region side, Wagadu overall suffered four defeats, three draws and three wins, while Immigration collected six wins, one draw and two defeats with a game-in-hand.

Immigration FC occupy 2nd position with 19 points level with PSV Wellingara while Wagadu sit 10th position with 12 points.

Waterside FC were beaten 3-1 by Bombada FC in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum on Tuesday.

The Brikama-based team, Bombada FC now collected their third win of the season while the Banjul-based team, Waterside FC continued with their struggle in their maiden season.

Waterside FC overall suffered six defeats, two draws and two wins, while Bombada collected three wins, two draws and four defeats in ten games.

Bombada FC sit 11th position with 11 points leveling with B4U Kiang West and Kanifing East while Waterside FC occupy 17th position with 8 points leveling with Red Hawks and Jam City.

Meanwhile, B.K. Milan and Jam City game was called off due to power failure at the Independence Stadium on Tuesday.

Kanifing East and Latrikunda United game at the Independence Stadium was postponed due to closure of the stadium for renovation ahead of Gambia international engagements.

At the time of going to press, Jarra West were playing against B4U Kiang West at the Soma mini-stadium; Tallinding United were battling with Greater Tomorrow at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum.

Gunjur United and Medical FC encounter scheduled at the stadium was postponed due the closure of the stadium for renovation.

Red Hawks FC will today, Friday, play against Young African in a game at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum.
