Brikama Nyabo Kaffo Gets furniture worth €5,000

Brikama Nyabo Kaffo, an Islamic school, over the weekend received donation of (90) new chairs and desks from a Turkish Muslim organization called International Humanitarian Relief Organization (IHHNL) based in Netherland.

The donation came through Cemiyatul Hyre Relief Organization (CHRO) – Gambia office. The donated furniture worth five thousand Euros equivalent to over (three hundred and twenty thousand dalasi (D320,000.00).

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the school ground, the CHRO –Gambia country Director Musa Jallow said the donated furniture was fully sponsored by International Humanitarian Relief Organization called International Humanitarian Relief Organization based in Netherland.

He said the organization consists of Turkish Muslin philanthropists that have been supporting numerous projects in The Gambia over the years.  He explained that IHHNL started partnership with CHRO-Gambia way back in 2011.

Since then, the relationship between IHHNL and CHRO-Gambia office has been very cordial.

According to Mr Jallow based on relationship, a lot of projects have been successfully carried out in The Gambia by IHHNL in partnership with CHRO-Gambia office.

Based on this trust, he said, IHHNL decided to provide this 90 chairs and desks for Brikama Nyabo Kaffo through CHRO-Gambia office to ensure comfortable learning for the school children.

He acknowledged the support provided by IHHNL through CHRO-Gambia office and commended them for responding to the needs of the school within three weeks.

He  further highlighted some of the numerous projects undertaken by the donors which including sponsoring of over 200 orphans, providing them with allowance every three months, providing clothes, school bags, to various schools in The Gambia, bulls during Tobaski, as well as providing food Aids during the holy month of Ramadan among other projects.

Mr. Jallow explained that all these projects are coordinated by CHRO- Gambia office and the projects has been successfully completed. He seized the opportunity to thank IHHNL for considering Gambian needy children.

For his part, the principal of Brikama Nyabo Kaffo, Abubacarr Camara expressed delights to receive this furniture for the school children. He described this donation as very timely and long overdue. He acknowledged the support and assured that the furniture will be maintained.

Mustapha Sonko, Board chairman of the development committee expressed similar sentiments and appreciation over the donated furniture.

The presentation was attended by Imam Alhagie Seedy Mutarr Jabbi Gassama of Pirang and cross section of the community of Brikama.
