Karpowership donates 80 bags of rice, sugar to First Lady’s Foundation

Karpowership – The Gambia has donated 40 bags of rice and 40 bags of sugar to the First Lady’s foundation which is meant to be giving to needy families amid the Covid-19.
The donation held at State House on Thursday was third of its kind.

Fatou Ceesay, Vice President of the Foundation on behalf of the board of directors and Her Excellency assured Karpowership – The Gambia of giving the donated foodstuffs to the needy people in the communities.

Extending the Foundation’s appreciation over the support, she admitted that Karpowership is new in the country but always contribute towards the development of the country and “we highly appreciate what you are doing for our community,” she expressed.

Presenting the items, Yankuba Mamburay, Country Manager Karpowership said it is their third time to help the Foundation, a gesture he said they will continue to do.

“As we know, Karpowership-The Gambia started operation officially 2nd May 2018 for a two-year contract to provide up to 30 megawatts of electricity in the country and that contract has just ended on the 1st of May 2020 while we just embarked on a new contract which started 2nd May, 2020,” Mamburay disclosed.

He added that Karpowership is highly on demand around the globe because of the unique, modern and sophisticated approach used to produce electricity around the globe “We are unique because there is none like us,” he bragged.

He added that the company is the only one that can provide electricity through what is call, ‘floating power plant’ and because of that, they have state-of-the-art and also quick fix solution to electricity.
