“This is one of its kind to be staged in The Gambia and from now on, we intend to put this in the entertainment calendar of the country with the firm believe that ECOFEST will become the center stage of excellence, sharing of cultural and music ideas from all the West African nations.”

Taal said: “Our goal is to bring unity and diversity among artists of the sub-region by creating a universal entertainment amongst West Africans and Africans at large thus for the first time Ecowas artists will share the same stage in Banjul. This is one of its kind to be stage in The Gambia and from now on we intend to put this in the entertainment calendar of the country with the firm believe that ECOFEST will become the center stage of excellence, sharing of cultural and music ideas from all the West African nations,”

According to her, The Gambia cannot afford not to get its fair share of the multi-million dollar global music industry that enables artistes to thrive economically.

Abby Sarr, the Manager of Global Ace noted that ECOFEST will bridge the gap in the sub-region’s music industry by helping to develop the local music industry and give international exposure to local talents.

She explained that The Gambia is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. But until entertainment is given its rightful purpose and place in national policies of the country, its economic value will be eroded. Therefore, promoting the entertainment industry becomes more important for the socio-economic development of the country.

Madam Sarr, a season tourism and hospitality industrialist pointed out that: “There is room for growth in the entertainment industry and ECOFEST is creating a platform for booming artist and developing artist in the industry. It will give the artist to share and create ideas while bolstering their talents and by combining talents from nations with a more established entertainment industry new talents can blossom,”
