Onlookers Cheer Teranga Riders to Excitement in Gambia

In what could be described as a super show of Motor Grand Prix in Destination Gambia, Friday, 30th December, 2018, a group of riders called Teranga Moto Rider Club based in Senegal rode motorbikes from Dakar, Senegal to Banjul, The Gambia. They were cheered to excitement by the onlookers as they entertained the large crowd with their riding skills.

This is the third motor grand prix of the Teranga Moto Rider Club in The Gambia, as they visited twice in 2017. The two-day motorbike grand prix was organized by Khadijatou “Aja” Tambajang, founder/Lead Consultant of Makalimatta Consulting in collaboration with the Gambia Tourism Board.

The motorbike riding activities took off in Senegal, Friday morning where over dozen of riders rode from Dakar to Karang/Amdalai border of Senegal and The Gambia respectively, a journey of about six hours. Inside The Gambia, the Teranga Moto Rider Club which was later joined by other members Saturday, rode motorbikes in different places across the cities to hinterland before finally rode back to Barra where they departed The Smiling Coast for Senegal.

In her thought, Khadijatou “Aja” Tambajang who was excited about the activities said it is one event which can be used to lure more visitors to destination Gambia to organize, participate in one activity or another which would have a long lasting impression on the people.

One among the highlights of the event was the donation of items to some kids, NGOs and other people across the TDA.

According to Gonga Dore, president of Teranga Moto Rider Club, the club was founded five years ago; they are all friends that have passion for motorbikes. They are like a family and always organize ride inside Senegal. The whole group is over fifty riders male and female while more interested people are welcome

On their Gambia’s experience, he acknowledged the safety of the environment and scenery as they had great riding and fun “because the three days is like holiday.”

Mamadou Moustapha Camara expressed delight on their ride from Dakar to Banjul. He said the group had a nice trip in the destination because of the good roads and its scenery. He thanked the founder of Makalimatta Consulting and Gambia Tourism Board for the wonderful collaboration.
