Liberian to officiate Gambia – Togo match.

Liberia’s deputy minister of youth and sports has been appointed by Confederation of African football (CAF) to official the Scorpion’s second leg of the double-header in Banjul against Togo on October 16th 2018.

Andy Quamie appointed by CAF came as result of the recent overcrowding of the Gambia vs Algeria first leg AFCON 2019 qualifier at the Independence Stadium in September.

He was elected at the just-ended 40th CAF Ordinary General Assembly in Casablanca, Morocco

It could be recalled that Gambia vs Algeria game was delayed over an hour amid worries over players’ safety after supporters forced their way in beyond the stadium’s capacity.

Quamie is also serving on the appeal board for four years, from February 2018 to February 2022.

In 2012, he was appointed as match commissioner for CAF. Since his appointment, he has gone on to commission several FIFA and CAF matches.
